Adult Community Integration Services
This service is intended for adults who are coping with mental illness. It can be conveniently provided in your home or community with a flexible schedule to meet your needs. Community Integration promotes successful living in the community, minimizes the need for hospitalization, supports transitions to independence, supports current living status to reduce cycles of instability, and enhances your quality of life.
We can help you:
- Reduce cycles of instability in your life
- Learn about other services or community and natural supports that may be available to you
- Develop strategies to make family life less stressful
- Find or maintain permanent housing
- Make better decisions about your current or future needs
- Keep from becoming overwhelmed with the day-to-day hassles of life
- Get settled when returning home from an inpatient or other out-of-home setting
- Develop strategies to help you cope with your mental health symptoms
Skills Development Services
Skills Development is a teaching-based service designed to assist individuals in developing or improving the skills and knowledge required to live independently.
We can help you learn how to:
- Manage your home finances
- Access services and natural support in your community
- Overcome social isolation and integrate back into social settings
- Negotiate the social service system
- Problem solve in your home or workplace
- Care for your home and family
Those Eligible:
- MaineCare member
- 18 years old, or an emancipated minor
- Diagnosed with a mental illness
- Have at least one of the following situations resulting from a mental health diagnosis:
- Homeless or at risk of becoming homeless
- Concerned about your decision-making or behavior
- At risk of arrest
- At risk of harming self or others
- Have great difficulty in caring for self
- At risk of hospitalization
Our skilled and caring intake staff will ask you for additional information to finalize eligibility.
We provide support and encouragement to those in need.
