Community Family Support Services
Community Family Support Services (CFSS) provides support and rehabilitative services to children and families coping with the strains that accompany mental health challenges. CFSS partners with families and children to assist them in identifying the services they need. A major component of the assessment process and ongoing support interventions is partnering with case management agencies and other involved community and state providers to assist families in identifying services. Goals are clearly written to guide our alliance with children and their families in order to help them move towards a level of functioning that will no longer require mental health services.
CFSS provides the following services:
- Individual treatment plan development in partnership with the family
- Monitor and identify of progress
- Search for teachable moments and promote problem-solving skills
- Share strategies with those who are caring for the children/youth
- Attend meetings with parents to assist them in advocating for their child
- Directly support to the child and family
- Assist in developing positive approaches to stressful situations
- Partner with family to develop crisis plans
- Help families navigate the social service system to help discover services available to them
- Develop behavior management plans
- Help ensure continuity and consistency with regard to education
- Short-term individual/family therapy
