An interview with Lisa Lynch, Independent Living Coordinator

  1. How long have you worked at Care?
I came to Community Care just about 3 years ago at the suggestion of a friend who also works at Care. As soon as I walked into the agency, I felt good vibes and was happy to be offered a position in Adult Services.
  2. What do you like most about your job?
I enjoy working directly with people that are faced with challenges, while helping them to solve problems, connect with the services they need, and live independently
  3. What do you like most about Care?
I admire the way the clients we serve are treated with compassion and respect. I also appreciate the support I receive from supervisors, co-workers and front desk staff.
  4. Can you tell us anything about your family that you would like to see in your story?
I have a loving and supportive family for which I am thankful. My husband, a psychology professor, has played a big role in inspiring me to take the steps in entering the field of social work.
  5. What do you do in your free time?
Outdoors is my favorite place to be, whether it is sailing, gardening, skiing, snowshoeing, or just a walk in the woods.
  6. What is your favorite kind of music?
Typically, classic rock and blues, but I really have a diverse collection of music from classical to punk.
  7. What is your favorite place?
The ocean is my favorite place to be. I find being there gives me peace and calm, yet it can also become an exciting adventure!
  8. What are a couple of things that people might be surprised to know about you?
Although I am usually a bit shy, I have performed on stage at The Full Circle Summer Fair, The Rack at Sugarloaf, and Unity College while playing a “mean” tambourine!
  9. What are you most proud of?
Returning to school after many years of working in a family business was a challenge on many levels. I was able to complete my education so that I can help others make positive changes in their lives.
