An interview with Kathryn Lowery, Clinician

  1. How long have you worked at Care?
I've been at Care for about two years. My first year was as part of my internship with UNE. After the first year I moved into the role of BHP and not Cliinician.
  2. What do you like most about your job?
I really enjoy working with the families that we serve, particularly the kids. It really helps too put things in perspective after spending the day with the kiddos (clients) and their families.
  3. What do you like most about Care?
I like that Care is committed to helping families and the community and committed to approaching families and clients with unconditional positive regard.
  4. Can you tell us anything about your family that you would like to see in your story?
I moved here from Arizona to attend college and it was quite a change! My parents always encouraged me and my siblings to bring something positive to the situation and I'm happy that I'm able to continue to do that through my work at Care.
  5. What do you do in your free time?
I really enjoy reading and bike riding. Sometimes writing or going on hikes or to the beach. I've made some great friends with the other Clinician's at Care and enjoy hanging out with them.
  6. What is your favorite kind of music?
My parents listened to 70's music all throughout my childhood and that definitely makes up the majority of my playlist.
  7. What is your favorite place?
Favorite place would probably be the desert. It's a very different landscape. I miss the dry heat and warmth sometimes!
  8. What are a couple of things that people might be surprised to know about you?
I really enjoy cooking, particularly tortillas and salsa. I like to paint, especially landscapes.
  9. What are you most proud of?
I'm proud of the work I do at Care. I'm proud that there is something I'm able to contribute to the work at Care that is positive and helpful to families and clients that I work with.
